A symposium regarding disaster relief was held by the May Flower English Club on May 30th. Most members of the club and some students from
The symposium contained a variety of activities which embodied our emotion : watching the video of the earthquake from CNN reduced us to tears ; the solo named ” you raise me up “ ,the duet named “Prayer” ; and poems like” Baby, If You Are Still Alive,” “We’re Strong People and the Master of Our Destiny” and “ mother let me tell you a word “ expressed our deep sympathy , mourning and love to the dead victims; the chorus like” Let the World Be Filled With Love” by students from Zhejiang Ocean University and” Unity Is Strength” by members from MFE club showed our energetic support to the people in disaster hit area and confidence to win the fight against the disaster ; Making paper cranes was a very significant part pushing the whole activity to the climax. Everyone present was given a beautiful paper on which they were going to write their best wishes to the people in the disaster area. They then made the paper into a crane and put it into a big specially made envelope. Besides , a letter written to the students in Beichuan High School was read so as to soothe them with our best wishes .Throughout the symposium there were short speeches made by everyone present between whiles. Everyone took an active part in the activities.
座谈会上内容丰富充满激情：播放来自CNN的地震实况视频再次使大家热泪盈眶；独唱“你激励了我”， 二重唱 “祈祷”，诗朗诵：“孩子如果你还活着”，“妈妈我告诉你一句话”，“我们是强者，是命运的主宰”等节目抒发了对遇难者深切的悼念、同情、真爱。由海洋学院/海运学院学生合唱的“让世界充满爱”和由五月花英语俱乐部合唱的“我们众志成城”表达了对灾区人民的有力支持和战胜灾难的信心。制作千纸鹤的活动把晚会推向高潮：人手发一张五颜六色的纸叠成纸鹤，在上面写上真诚的祝福，然后依次投到特制的大祈福箱内。此外，座谈会上还宣读了致北川中学学生的一封信，抚慰学生并致以良好的祝愿。座谈会上自始至终在节目之间有人发言，争先恐后地抒发情感。
