On November 28th, The Annual meeting of the May Flower Club was held in the Zhoushan Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau. The club president John and representatives from each club department attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the club president John firstly summarized the achievements and failures during the past year. Generally speaking, despite some unsatisfying elements, the past year is a successful one for the Mayflower English Club. Every weekend the coffee house kept attracting English loving guests, including both club members and non-club members, providing English lovers in Zhoushan an opportunity as well as an atmosphere for practicing English. Besides, in the year 2008, there are also some big events organized by the club, for example, the New Year Party for 2008, the speech contest, etc, the symposium for disaster relief campaign ,which enlarge the Mayflower English Club’s influences among the English lovers in Zhoushan. After the conclusion session, the attending representatives discussed the club work in 2009. The discussion has contributed many valuable and applicable suggestions for the club daily operations.
会上，JOHN总结了过去一年的成功于失败，尽管有不尽人意之处，但总的说来，五月花过去一年是成效显著。除了每周五保持英语咖啡屋这一传统项目，吸引英语爱好者以外，五月花还组织了一些大型的活动，例如08新年晚会，迎奥运演讲比赛，抗震救灾座谈会等，这些活动扩大了五月花在英语爱好者中的影响。会议还讨论了09年五月花的工作，与会代表们提出了许多有价值的可行的建议。
The last agenda of the meeting is for the organization of the upcoming New Year Party for 2009. Through the discussion, the attendances have reached an agreement on the arrangement of the party, including the schedule, performances and the purchase. The club is confident of giving Zhoushan English lovers a feast of entertainment in due time.
会议最后一项议程是如何办好2009新年晚会。最后与会者就晚会安排达成了共识，其中包括时间安排，节目及投入的财力。五月花有信心届时奉献给舟山的英语爱好者一个灿烂的晚会。
As the year 2008 approaches its end, this annual Meeting the Mayflower English Club is of great importance because it gives the past year a proper conclusion and the upcoming year 2009 some necessary guidance in work. This meeting will be a great treasure for the future development of the Mayflower English Club in 2009.
当2009的脚步声日益临近，五月花英语俱乐部此次年会极为重要，因为它即对五月花的过去一年作了个恰如其分的评价，又为未来一年指明了方向。会议将成为2009年五月花的发展的里程碑。
